NES Top Loader issues

Today I went to play my Top Loader and it gave me a black/white screen and makes a weird sound. I have never had issues with it before. 

Does anybody here repair systems?

Would doing the video mod to this system fix it?

    I have been known to fix a system or two in my day. It would not be worth the shipping/cost to repair.



    But I am more interested in purchasing your broken system.

    The black/white swirly screen is that just the regular channel 3 noise? Sounds like your Top Loader isn't even connecting to the TV. Do you have a back up RF connector? Try that.



    Have you tried cleaning the pin connector?

    It's was different than the typical ant race look. I tried a different video cable and power cord. Nothing worked. I was hoping it was the tv and tried another one of my NES systems. The second system worked like a champ.



    I tried Paul's method of cardboard through the connecters and nothing has changed.



    I will post a pic of the screen later this evening.

    Wow those certainly are like nothing I've seen.

    Is your other NES a top loader?

    I'd say if you're comfortable taking the broken one apart do so and compare it to your other one if indeed that is a top loader as well. Look for blown or leaky caps. Maybe something like that happened.



    I wish I could help you better.

    I worry about stuff like this with my top loaders as to it seems like I find more forum posts regarding dead top loaders than old toasters.

    This is the only Top Loader I have. I looked at the board and everything looks just fine to me.
