In need of flea market advice

I just wanted to get some real good advice from people that
know their stuff. My husband and I have been selling and collecting games for
the last decade and I was looking to remove clutter and make some cash so I can
add some great stuff to our collection. My collection ranges from Atari 2600
through new stuff. I have probably at least 50 systems lying around that are
just collecting dust. I hate to see them go to waste.

I hate selling systems on ebay anymore. Shipping cost has
gotten to the point where it isn't worth the time and packaging usually. Plus I've
been boned (yes
I love Bender "Bending Unit" Rodriguez) too many times trying to calculate
international shipping. I want to branch out locally.

There is a really great flea market here once a month. There
is a game dealer that is always there but charges out the shiny metal ass for
their games. I'm talking $16 for loose bubble bobble and get this $8 for super Mario
bros\Duck hunt and 8 bucks for Super Mario World. I have no idea how they even
sell a single game. Really I'm baffled that they even pay for the tables and
make money

Tables are 8 foot long and $15 a piece. I really want advice
on how much to charge and make maximum money while still undercutting ebay and
the other dealer. Does anyone have a
solid list that they have reliably gone by with flea markets?  I know that demographics plays a major role
and here where we live it is rare to find anything great, I'm talking 2 good
hauls in 6 years. Most of the time it is very dry in the wild.

I have one really good idea about 72 pin connectors. I have
one really crappy topped NES that I want to open and replace the connector and
use as a demonstration unit. Then I can show people that drop my table that by replacing
the connector it makes the system work correctly. I think this will increase
profit on my NES systems and it is always nice to show people why things work, how they work and where the extra cash is going.

Please share any ideas that you have and price lists,
advice, or anything else that you have to make this a good experience and help
us put the crazy price dealer out of business, maximize profit and help the local gaming community.

  • If you can its good to have a T.V. set up so people can test systems and make sure you keep your table clean and organized.
  • Its seems as though you have good intentions and are looking to make money. So basically judging by the info you gave us Id say your good to open a fleamarket booth and sell the more pricy items here on NA. If you have a TV to demo games and systems then its a sure sell from a buyers perspective theres no risk.

Aslo somebody else is over charging for games, then this means bussiness for you, just charge a dollar or two less, you would still be making more money then you could of ebay and you can cut people deals giving you a good rep and being a reasonable person to deal with.

    Best of luck
