Dutch Smurfs

I bought a Smurfs copy not too long ago from a Dutch person, and even though it has the FRA code on everything, it says "De Smurfen" (Dutch title) on the front and top of the box, instead of "Les Schtroumpfs" (French title). The manual and cartridge do say Les Schtroumpfs, though. Has anyone ever come across one like this before? I'm just curious if this one is a lot rarer than the French FRA and German NOE versions (the Italian version, for example, seems to be much tougher to find as well)?

EDIT: I just compared the back to the French titled FRA one (scanned on NA), and while both are identical, they have different barcodes/UPC!

  • So it has the FRA code on the box but is in Dutch?
  • Just the title on the front and the top of the box is in Dutch (and on the left side of the box, but I think the French titled FRA copy has that as well).
  • Hey Speedy!

I was suprized when I saw "de smurfen" on NGDs list - thought he mean the franch version. De smurfen I didn't saw in the wild yet. The italien version "I Puffi" I saw once a boxed copy on eBay.it but in poor condition also a cart only appears some months ago in an eBay.it-shop. I don't know which one should be rarer?

An futher intresting thing is that their excists two german version of "Die Schluempfe"
One with the NOE code is complete in german the other FRG version has on the front and left side "Die Schlümpfe" written and on the top and the right side "les Schtroumpfs" The back is in bothe languages.
But got 4 screenshots instead of 6 like the NOE version. Got no manual but guess that it was also in both languages.
The FRG version is distributed in Austria - so I guess it was concept for the Swiss market as well, so they put also Franch on it - but they also speaking italien in Swiss image

  • Not to get off topic but is the smurf game any fun to play. The only smurf game I have is for the colecovision and its not the most exciting game to play
  • Nice!

I've never heard about a Dutch version.

But I've got the French version (cart only) and the German NOE version (NiB).

When I looked inside the box of the German version I noticed there was a French poster of Asterix inside, marked INF-AX-FRA (my French Asterix game has serie# NES-AX-FRA).

Is this poster supposed to be inside Die Schlümpfe?

Yeah, it's pretty fun. Neat little platformer.
  • Hey Xevious!
No, they should be in the Asterix game image

The NOE should have a Smurfs poster inside:

IIRC, my copy is also like this
  • My college german is rusty...does that say "The world of the Smurfs" or does it say "Smurf the World"? Because if it's the latter the picture is more than a little suggestive...image

    It means -Smurf the World-.
On the top of the poster is written that -Smurf the World- is an organisation of environment protection founded by Peyo the mental father of the smurfs and that you have supporting this organisation with buying this copy of the smurfs...
