sealed game question

I got a n64 game backstage assault and the manual is in the shrinkwrap on the outside of the box did they do this with games or did I get hosed.

  • I've never heard of that, but then I don't collect n64.

The only thing I've heard of that on is Cdn ps2 games - they take a shinkwrapped US copy, place a french manual on top, and then shrinkwrap it a second time, in order to get a bilingual package.
  • I'd say you probably got hosed. sorry man

I think this was the case with the N64, depending on what store you went to. Wal-Mart, Zellers, and any other major retailer usually does if the French manual is provided with the shipment. Independant stores do not. My guess is that if the seal looks legit, it probably is.

Well.... I would tweak that to say that if its a french or bilingual manual on top, and if its dual sealed, it might be legit, but if its just a US manual on top of a US game single sealed, its pretty unlikely to be real.
  • It could still be one seal. I've seen sometimes that the store removes the seal. But usually it's double sealed, depending on the store.
  • this just seems kinda wierd to me.... I know nothing about sealed games but why would the seller or someone else who had the game previously seal it with the manual on the outside if they were trying to fool someone? wouldnt it be the smart thing to do to put the manual inside the box before sealing it?

A store could have done this before the person who sold this let it go.  I wouldn't think it's all that much of an uncommon practice, at my old job we used to reseal toys after people would rip them open for one reason or another.  As long as the pieces were there, most people that worked there didn't care how the package looked.
  • Ive never seen one like this oh well ill leave it the way it is and pick up another copy just to see if they were all like that or not
  • Well for those collecting sealed n64 games I got a second factory sealed game today which was anything but. The plastic was loose and you can see wear on the box under the plastic also the plastic over the upc code is gone and there is marker on the box. I asked for a refund guess Ill see where that leads
  • "This item is new and factory sealed!!!!"

    "No it isn't!!!" image

  • well guy said he would refund guess i ll see how it goes
  • I think he could have resealed the game. I bought that kind of game to snes but I was told about that before. Now we come to this: I have not yet checked it out since I did not want to remove the seal. Is there anyone here who have bought a resealed game to later discover that the box inluded another game than was told in the itemdescription? I would like to find out if I really got that game I wanted but then I have to open the seal, even if it is resealed
