eBay transaction goes sour almost immediately after it ends

I won an eBay auction for a  complete in box Legend of Zelda for a pretty good
price. Right after the auction ended I
paid. Then like 20 minutes after I paid
I get a message from eBay telling me the seller wants to cancel the transaction. I also have a message from the seller telling
me that his dog chewed the box and game up so he wants to cancel the
transaction. At this point I'm pretty
sure he's really just unhappy with the price I won the auction at. I send him a quick message back asking me if
he can send me pics of the chewed game and box. A few minutes later I get message back saying his dog chewed them up
earlier in the week and he already threw it all out. He said he just now figured out how to cancel
the auction (which at this point he was really canceling the transaction, not
the auction...). He then refunded my
money. I sent him a quick note basically
stating that if I see him relist it I'm going to be pretty annoyed.

At this point what should I do? I know I'm not getting the game at this
point. It looks like since I paid for
the auction originally I can still leave feedback. I'm not sure how long it will let me wait to
leave feedback though. Should I just let
it go at this point? Or should I just
leave him negative feedback now? Or
should I wait to see if he relists it before I leave negative feedback. This guy is a new seller, and I'm pretty sure
he's full of shit on the game getting chewed up. He's got some other CIB auction running now
that end in 5 days or so.

Ugh, so fucking annoyed...

    I would wait to see if he relists it, I don't think there is a specific amount of time you have to leave feedback in. Sucks, but probably not a whole lot else you can do.

    You have 60 days to leave feedback I am almost positive. I would email him and say you are going to leave neg feedback unless he proves something. I HATE it when sellers do this. If you list at auction you need to honor the sale. This is my biggest pet peeve about ebay sellers. People should be warned about him.

    He's full of shit. If that really happened earlier in the week, he could've at least thrown a blurb in his auction warning people that it got damaged.

    I'd neg him and move on.

    Also, don't cancel the transaction.  If you do, then you can't leave him feedback (and he saves the fees).

    Totally agree I accidentally listed one of my BIN for a 1.30 instead of 13 dollars I honored the sale didn't do any of this BS that the OP's seller is doing. Best of luck man if he does relist it NEG his ass im sorry his dog chewed it up? This isn't your math homework

    I hadn't even though about the fact that I could have been backdoored... This isn't the first time this has happened to me with some seller giving me the dog chewed it up story. I'm probably going to give him a negative now. If he doesn't relist it then I'm going to have to assume I was backdoored.

    Well I now have confirmation that he pulled it because he didn't like the price it sold for... 

     I created a new eBay account and sent him a message from the new account saying that I missed the auction and I'd like to purchase it from him for a higher price than the winner of the auction won it for.  Basically I tried back dooring myself    He sent me a message saying this:

    "I backed out on that auction because ebay messed up on it. I'm willing to sell it to you for 110$ on another account. I have to make a new account because i am not allowed to relist the item so if you want me 2 do that message me back".

    What a fucking piece of shit!  I will be submitting this eBay seller to the Hall of Shame for sure!

    I was thinking about suggesting this to you earlier.  I got distracted.  What a POS.  What Zelda CIB would go for that much anyways?

    If eBay caught wind of this do you think they would restrict this guy in any way? If so, then I would definitely let them know.

    I just gave him the option of sending the game out to me tomorrow morning or I will be leaving him negative feedback and reporting him to eBay.  They'll pull all his other auctions down I'm pretty sure.

    Piece of shit is right, I've been unhappy with my stuff selling low but always hold true to the final price.  This guy is shady.

    That was a pretty good move, you actually caught his ass lying! Still, it's easy to tell he was. I mean if your dog actually chewed up the box, wouldn't the first thing you do is contact the buyer with some picture evidence before throwing it away? >.< Man, I hope this guy gets what's coming to him!



    Let us know who he is/HoS his ass so we won't run into the same trouble.
