Ninten-DOES! My genesis won't stop doing the vertical slide

I broke out the genesis today for some splatterhouse action and it's got a unique issue. The screen keeps rolling vertically, displays everything and plays music, but keeps rolling.

I have so far cleaned the pins on the cartridge, the cartridge slot, the RF adapter port / cable connector and tried several RF adapters - all result in the same issue. I've tried multiple games, including ones that I had played at a friends house last week and know work 100%.

I then said screw it and hooked up my snes to rage out on some Plok! and used the same RF adapter and it works fine. No scrolling, nothing, works 100% on the first try.

Is anyone else having / had this issue? What can I do to fix it?

    Genny 1 or 2? If it's a 2, I may have one laying around here.

    It's a first gen, and here's what gets me man. I went to the girlfriend's place and hooked up the same genny - same game - works. No vertical slide, nothing but good ol' crisp clean sega genesis. Wait, watch me hook up the snes and it still works either way. I'm baffled.
