Need opinions from wise collectors

I just got a shit load of SEALED SNES games. many, many rares like Ninja Gaiden Trilogy etc...

Should I store them and wait? or?

I only need 180 snes games for my loose cart snes collection, but i dont want to open these or start an entire sealed collection, that would cost a fortune.

any thoughts?

  • I would NEVER open a sealed game, ever. You can always get a cart for much less, but a game only has its true seal once.
  • It would depend on what your collecting goals are. If you planned on trying to get a complete sealed collection I would keep them. If you werent planning on going for a sealed collection I would sell them one at a time and you would probally make more than enough to buy the rest you need ..or Im sure some sealed collectors would make you a pretty good trade for the sealed games.
  • I think Bronty was branching into SNES...might do to PM him. If you plan to upgrade your cart-only collection to a CIB collection though, maybe it'd be worth it to open them up and have them as your first CIB games.
  • there is more than enough to start a collection of sealed. There is probably 80% of the games made for the SNES

May as well finish it off then! I have 3 sealed games...Frantic Flea, Jeopardy: Sports Edition, and (I think) Battleclash. If you don't have those and decide to start a sealed SNES set, let me know image
  • i would not open them... just sit on em..

    Do NOT open them.

Well that MUST have been one hell of a score if you got 80% of the collection sealed. That leaves about 150 or so more games you need for the full set. I say go for the full set sealed. Sure it'll be hard to track down 150 sealed games that you still need, and expensive, but it's not impossible, and a sealed SNES set would be amazing.
  • well theres a two different options that I think would work well....

    1. keep all the games and start a CIB collection. Keep the games sealed and if you want to play the games then you open them. what would be better than to open a sealed game because you want to play it... plus then that way it will always be your game, not someone elses and it will be mint and you can keep it that way... plus it sounds like you got it for a descent price or you would be wanting to sell some to get your moneyback...

    2. Sell all the sealed games and make a ton of money to fund not only your SNES collection but any other collections as well...

Thats just my opinion but good luck figureing out what to do....

  • I have a better idea than anyone has yet to mention. Send them all out to me for free, I don't want you to have to worry about making a decision so I will take them off your hands image

I would start a sealed SNES set if I had that many of them. But if you sold them you would make thousands. BTW, how much did you pay for them and how many did you get exactly?

  • well, i wouldnt have to open that many, cause i already have over 540 loose carts in my snes cart collection.

i think i may complete the set. i will regret it if i dont try. but ill have to complete both so i can play the loose ones.
  • any chance of a pic of the games would be cool to see 500 some unopened snes games
  • as soon as my wife returns with the digital.
  • So tell us about the score. how'd you find that many all in one place, and how much did it cost ya?
  • here are the pics. I got them from a guy who works as a shipper/receiver and came across them in the warehouse he works at.

    heres some pics.

sorry for the pic quality, its the only way i could get them to upload.
  • wow, incredible man.

  • Wow!! I don't really even collect SNES but that is enough to make a guy want to start! That looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • That is amazing. I would have a hard time not opening them though.
  • i dont need to open them, i have almost all of them loose cart already in my basement.

final count: 524 different titles sealed, 16 duplicates sealed

3 sealed games not on Nintendo's official list for North America:

    - Chavez
    - Super Copa
    - 2 in 1: Extertainment Mountain Bike Rally and Speed Racer (Life Fitness)

  • Mind if I ask what you paid?
  • Congratulations man. That looks like the score of a lifetime, pretty much. I'm really surprised you had do few duplicates.. that's bizarre.

Are you interested in selling any? There's a few I would pay very well for and a few more that other collectors I know would pay extremely well for. I have pm'd you my #.

    cheers
  • that is insane bro. lemme know if u ever wana sell that super adventure island 2. WOW what a score man
  • I dont think i am going to sell any for now. I might collect them all. I might sell the 16 duplicates, not sure yet.  I may auction dupes to find out what they are worth.

  • Holy SH@T! Would be VERY interested in some of those. PM sent.
  • If you have a dupe of Wizardry V, would you part with it for my Wizardry collection?
  • no dupe of that. The best sealed dupes i have (out of the 16) are:

    -  Shadowrun
    -  Rise of the Phoenix
    -  Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
  • Wow, amazing score. If you don't want them, you could sell quite a few of them (the rarer and more desirable ones) easily for $100-200+ each, and buy loose ones for a fraction of the price.
  • I've been looking for Shadowrun for a while as well, but I'd hate to have a sealed one...it'd open a Pandora's box for me...I'm already opening NES games, I don't need to branch out into SNES games as well image
  • lol, yeah, I hear ya. Everytime I look at these games sitting in the original wrap I just want to open them to play them, well at least the ones I've never played. I came across at least 50 games I dont even remember seeing when I was younger. I look at the back of some of them and they look really, really cool.

  • most impressive thanks for the pics
  • Thats the kind of find I dream about!

    Congrats!!!
