  • If it's CIB, I may be in the running. All depends on when it's listed though as vacation is right around the corner.

I know, I know.....but I will have to make do with funds for a CIB Myriad since they are few and far in between. That's if the price stays in my limit. I hope the next CIB Myriad on ebay doesn't go wild and crazy like some auctions have lately

I betcha it goes nuts. $1500.

  • If that's the case then I'm out. But alot of the big time collector's already have theirs so who knows. I really can't think of any other collectors that are close to finishing that don't have this one except for wrldstrman, maybe RGG, and Nick. Anyone else???
  • this is one of the 30ish games i still need, but i don't have that kind of cash, so i won't be bidding, i might never own one of these image

  • I sure like seeing my matched set right above my monitor, thanks again Dan!
  • I will be bidding on it.

I don't collect unlicensed games, although I would like to own the six big name unlicensed games (both 6-in-1's, panesians, and cm2) CIB, but I'll focus on those after I fully complete my licensed set. So chances are I wont be bidding on the next one.
  • So no Color Dreams? image Aww, such a fun subset to collect for! lol
  • I know -- and of all people, you're probably the biggest Color Dreams freak!

No offense, but I think Martin of NESWorld takes the cake for that title.  image

As far as the next Myriad goes, I think you'll wind up seeing one or two people you've never heard of before making at least a valiant effort to obtain one.  There are some serious collectors out there with large cashflows who don't post on forums.  I've talked to a few people before via ebay, and one of the most massive collections I've ever gotten wind of belongs to a guy who doesn't even visit any online forums.
  • do you remember the guys ebay name?
  • Was it shockit1? I don't know who he is but I know he buys alot of NES stuff off ebay. About a year ago, he purchased a CIB Chubby Cherub from Sosafan for $75. Nice condition too. That and he seems to get ALL the good deals on ebay that have BIN prices. Maybe he has a bot that buys them or something when they show up??? Surely this is possible.
  • I plan on hitting a lot of flea markets and yard sale this summer so Im going to try and find stuff in the wild over the summer. If I solely collected nes I would grab up the next myriad but Im almost finished with my atari 7800, 5200 n64, odessy2 and atari jaguar collections which I would like to have complete by the end of summer. Im also going to start after a snes collection. Funny thing is when I first got into collecting I was after atari I have all the r8s and down but the r9s and 10s put a end to that. You think complete nes games are expensive. but they dont hold a candle to complete 2600 games. Im also going to see how many cheap ps1 games I can find maybe If things work out ill make enough to buy a myriad this fall.

what can you tell us about the price of the better 2600 completes? I'm always curious to hear about this stuff. I assume most of the better 2600 games are non-existent sealed?
  • 2600 stuff is crazy. Games like Eli's Ladder never even came with a box. It was just a cart and some stickers and people will pay over a grand for it. Tooth Protectors is another. The game really doesn't go for an insane amount (I think like $100) but it came in a styrofoam box and then it skyrockets. And if that styrofoam box still has the ribbon around it, it REALLY skyrockets. Last one sold for over $3000 on ebay. Completely insane.

wasn't it $2200? I remember buyatari bid on that one. Or was there a more recent one.

Still, that's not THAT far off from where the best nes stuff is. Stadium events is there, myriad almost is too. Nwc grey is there, gold is above. Maybe I'm looking at things with my nintendo blinders on, and certainly the 2600 stuff is probably way rarer, but I see a way bigger fan base for the NES stuff. I can see a 5k complete SE one day, can't you?
  • Maybe it was $2200. I was thinking it was over 3k. But still, cart goes for $100, complete it goess for 2.2k? Insane. Thing about atari is that it has a bunch of R10s while the NES has 3 or 4. I think they is a much bigger fanbase for the NES because it's what revolutionized the gaming industry. Without it, I don't think the gaming today wouldn't be what it is. I can see down the road a CIB SE going for 5k easy since right now I bet you it could hit 3k on the bay. I think Myriad will be up around 2k for a CIB copy before we really want it too!
