And my bill collectors didn't believe me when I told them I didn't get anything from them!

If thats the case send it back and tell paypal you never got it.
  • That's about the only way to get a refund out of some sellers.
  • I didn't want to give Discount games a chance, but I had to, been searching this one out for a while.

It arrived the same way as usual, late, wrapped in newspaper, in a bubble, I was just hoping it wouldn't get crushed by anyone along the way. And I go lucky it arrived fine. But normally, I steer very clear of DG, DK, but i have had decent experiences with Nes Depot.

  • That's why I only buy cart only from the craptastic sellers like them.  Hard to damage a cart (can be done, but shouldn't via normal mail).
  • I've been happy with discountgames, but only because I take advantage of the VERY affordable 5-for-9.99 shipping combination. It comes in a carton when you get that many so everything arrived in fine shape.
  • Hey, I like cartons.
  • Just got a boxed Sesame St ABC & 123 from discountgames. It arrived just like the first picture. Unfortunately I also used a BIN for a complete Balloon Fight. I am thinking about just taking a NPB on it now, or is there a way I can fight it with ebay?

    lmao TFGZ...
  • Pay for it with paypal then mark it RTS and file with paypal that you didn't get it.
  • That will only work if it doesn't have a DC# or insurance # on it. If you mark it RTS though it can't be opened or you will have to pay return postage.

  • Thats worse than what i've heard. If you request a refund and send the item back (to any seller) then you end up paying double shipping (first time to get the item then to send it back). And then paypal will pay the seller for damages and not the buyer. Its happened to me before and thats why i'm alot more careful now.

Pretty much anytime we have a return we instruct the buyer to reseal the item and mark it RTS, and drop it in a mailbox. They always make it back with no postage. Granted that's maybe 8 games a year, but still, no problems with the method so far.
  • Your post office is pretty lax then, so consider yourself lucky. I should be either return for postage from the sender, OR arrive postage due at your end from a postal standpoint image

  • has discout games always sold star wars figures, or is he branching out to new products lately?
  • He's sold them for the last couple of years at least. They also sell Mary Kay makeup.

DiscountGames makeup. For the princess Peach in all of us.

  • I also recently got my 1st (and certainly last) game from discountgames. Came in the same kind of package as yours and the box was completely ruined. I don't know what they are thinking? Do they actually think that a NES-box will survive that kind of non-existing packaging? Or do they think that the buyer don't care if the game arrives smashed?

I tried to get a refund and then I find out that they have some kind of "policy" that they only refund 80% of the amount? wth? I gave my first negative feedback ever to them.

Thats ridicluous.  I can kinda understand someone who doesn't ever really sell NES games to ship in a bubble mailer, not knowing that the boxes are collectible.  they just think you want to actually play the game, go figure!  But, Discount Games ha no excuse.  They know how collectible games and boxes are.  It is just insane that they would ship in anything but a sturdy box.  The more I read this thread, the more I HATE them!
  • They try to cut corners by the way they ship (to reduce costs), but if they'd ship in sturdy boxes, they'd get more business, and in turn make more money. Like Sosafan2 -- he ships boxed games in boxes, and in return, he gets more business. It's a simply business decision, and one that can make a dramatic impact on your bottom line.
  • Even sturdy boxes is far from a guarantee that the games will arrive unharmed. I've seen lots of examples of how the mail company can threat mail. Imo hard cardbox + bubble wrap is the only way to send a NES-game. I always inform the seller about this and I gladly pay extra for it as well.

For sure you can get a little refund if the game you ordered is smashed but that is no comfort what so ever.

Every time I see a game being damaged because of careless packaging I die a little inside
  • There are VHS tape boxes that are great for shipping boxed NES. The ones I use are adjustable, to hold one or two.
  • I didnt see this thread before now so sorry for the late reply. Damn, it sux that they dont protect the games better, especially when they looks to be in nice shape from before (i could kinda understand it if the box for the game was in pretty bad shape before they shipped it). Does Discount Games ignore requests for better protection of the package?
  • Only thing I ever bought from them were cib genny games which weren't in terrible shape.

They were both .01 + $1 shipping auctions too.

I really don't understand why they even bother with those listings, they are clearly losing money.
  • One of the best nes sellers Ive ever dealt with is wiigotnintento they have tons of stuff from nes 8 bit - the new wii some factory sealed some cart only and they give you free shipping on 2 orders with them 1 to 2 days tops to get my items. I have also had a very good experience with wiigotnintendo.
  • I only buy .01 donor carts from him. The games are usually pretty rough looking but perfect for donor carts that I'm going to take the label off of anyways image
