Unsolved NES Mystery - NA Case File #001:



In King Neptune's Adventure, by Color Dreams, there are 10 dollar bills to be found in the game.  This money is not mentioned anywhere in the manual, but the subscreen keeps track of your money, and the game goads you on by saying "collect 10 of these and... ???" (or something to that effect).  I checked gamefaqs, and the only faq for the game lists the location of 8 of the 10 dollar bills, asking for help in finding the other two.  A quick google search also turned up nothing.  So I put this task to YOU:



Can you find all of the "money" in King's Neptune Adventure and set my troubled mind at ease? (ie: tell me what then happens...)

    I've often wondered the same thing but i don't know where the other bills are.

    what happens if you cheat- ie use a game genie to up your tally of found bills? or edit that memory address in an emulator?

    If you're gonna do that, you might as well hack the cart to find the locations that way.

    Bumping this cuz, well, it came up in a Google search and I couldn't find them either. Found a couple I thought might have been unfound (despite only collecting six during my run), but they were already in the FAQ. Anyone able to solve this?

    Damn - for some reason in the middle of reading this I thought there were actual $10 bills inside the cart if you opened it up.



    Never played this one - but I hope someone out there can help. NA can do everything. There must be a hero among us who knows the answer.

    I have a hunch that one is hidden in the Deep Sea and one is hidden in the Inner Sanctum, but that's just pure guesswork. They're just the only named areas of the game that known bills have not been found in. It's a hunch that's based on absolutely nothing, but it's at least a place to start...

    Bringing this back from the dead because...







    I found that a while back and my hunch was half-right. As seen in the video there was in fact a dollar bill hidden in the Deep Sea region. I confirmed it when I played it last, when I accumulated 9 dollar bills. We still need to find bill #10 though. If the in-game map is anything to go by, then the Inner Sanctum remains the last named area that hasn't had a bill turn up...but it IS Color Dreams, so it really could be hidden anywhere. The reward for finding all ten should be a different ending message, which is something I'd LOVE to experience first-hand. I just haven't had any luck finding that final bill. Maybe someone else has turned up something and just not mentioned it?
