  • In a word, NO. They have been selling for crazy high prices lately though. If you remember (there is a thread somewhere) a few sold for like 225 CIB in the last month.

  • Historically, no, but lately the trend has caused these to escalate in value. And like they say, something is worth only what someone else is willing to pay. That being the case, it seems that the value had gone up because a lot of folks have been paying out the nose for these lately.

  • Heh.  I've seen that a lot with Bomberman 2 and Bubble Bobble 2.

I'm glad both of those games aren't on my "to get" list.  Bomberman 1 is, but that isn't as ridiculous in price.

I'm not saying it should be $225 for a complete, but personally I always thought bomberman 2 should be priced higher than it was anyway.. its a pretty rare instalment in a classic franchise... nuff said. In other words, is it too expensive at $225 or too cheap at the $40(?) it used to go for? (somewhere in between I'd say).

Same should go for romance 2 IMO and maybe nobunagas 2 as well. Perhaps not 'classic' but certainly long running franchises, with those two titles being very difficult to get.
  • There's that, and also it's just a really fun game.

True enough, but its not like its any more fun than it was six months ago, you know?
  • Very true!

When I was collecting my Koei subset, the toughest game to find was, in fact, Nobunaga II. Got screwed on a CIB (avoid link4nes, fuckin' scammer), but did get a boxed one. Lucked out and got a manual and a better condition cart in the wild, but I've been trying to get the map since I got screwed over and I've had no luck. It's also consistantly on peoples' final 100 list, but yet rarely tops $50 at auction. IMO, Romance II is priced properly at the $40-$50 range. It's rare, but it's much easier to find than Nobunaga II. It also has lower demand associated with it because Ro3K2 was released on the SNES and Genesis as well, so people looking to play the games in the franchise would opt to play the 16 bit versions (although the NES version is actually better IMO). I would say Bandit Kings of Ancient China should be the one fetching more money than it usually does, not Ro3K2.
  • Perfect example and I know I told a few of you already. 3 months ago I listed my mint double box and cart for Bomberman II just no book for $28 on eBay NOT ONE BID!! I listed it like a month ago after the other one sold for $230 and added a book to it that cost me like $6 and it sold crazy for the $225 people above are referring to. The one in that link above sucks though! Box is very faded and manual looks pretty bad too. So I would say no that one is not worth that but apparently at least one bidder thinks it is. I think it has cooled back off though, somewhat. I know Nistle and a couple others listed theres after mine sold and they didn't sell, could have been due to high starting bid though.

I agree, Nobunaga's II is a tough one, I've only had 2 CIB copies in all my collecting time.
  • agree, I think all three of those - nobunagas 2, romance 2, bandit kings are difficult. Two of those were some of the last games I found sealed. I don't think I've ever seen a sealed nobunaga 2 on ebay ever.
  • Good point, Bandit Kings of Ancient China is very tough to get nice CIB copy of. Only had one or two of those as well.

Dan, I have paid for the "item"!

    Thanks.

I actually saw one when I was looking for a CIB, but I didn't want to pay $200 for it. It was in an eBay store. Someone must've wanted one that bad though.

If you still have spare CIB Nobunaga 2 or Bandit Kings, let me know. My boxes are both in very rough shape, and both need maps still.

  • I got all the romance, uncharted waters, nobunagas 2, , bandit kings and quite a few other games in one lot years ago...for under 75.00
