Sony PSone Controller - Problem With The Start Button

So, I have a Sony PSone Controller (the white one) that was bought in a lot of broken controllers on eBay.  I have to press hard on the start button to get it to work.  I have already tried cleaning the rubber contacts and the trace on the circuit board.  It still won't fix it.  Every other button works fine.  I don't have to press hard on any other button but the start button.  What can I do to get the start button to work without pressing hard on it?

    Um...I may be missing something. But you bought a lot of broken controllers and want to know how to fix a broken controller?



    Use parts from the other broken units?!?!

    Check the back of you start button and make sure the black contact lines up with the trace on the board.

    I fixed the controller. I had to replace the contact with a completely different one from my drawers of controller parts. Now what the do with the old start/select/Analog contact? Throw it out? Or is there a way to save it and get it working again?
