Comments

  • You're mad a paypal so you are going to sue them because a hacker stole your informations?
  • you should be mad at the hacker and sue them for stealing your information and using it illegally and while you are a tit....you should sue Steve Jobs for creating the Apple computer and stealing it from everyone that came before him....Or you should sue sony for stealing Kodaks digital camera???

  • Maybe you should learn how to better protect your information, and even PayPal will give you an access card with randomly generated numbers you put in BEFORE your password to prevent someone from getting in. I've been using paypal since 2003 or 2004 and never once had an issue with them. Go figure.
  • well i got a fake paypal e-mail by the time i realized it was too late it was for a payment . also this i notice not too many people look at the links
  • I've also never once had an issue with paypal and have been using it for 6 or 7 years. Mabye you need better passwords and to check for a keylogger, most people's problems with money and information being stolen from their paypal account aren't paypal's fault.

    Thank you for your time,

    Sincerely Ahkbur.
  • LOL good luck.
  • While, Im sure there are many people out their with logical lawsuits against the craziness that is paypal......I dont think this will go far. Best of Luck.
  • well i spend 3 hours on the phone talking to paypal and too my bank and my bank see all my proof i have they say at my bank to file charges . so that what i did
  • I also receive these emails but I noticed there was something wrong with the name. It was Paypall instead of Paypal. It had to L's instead of one. To be honest though you can't be mad at paypal for the actions of others. Paypal has been really good to me and I can't imagine dealing with anyone online without it.

If you had a good bank the bank would file a chargeback and put you money back into your account without question and in turn put an ACR Hold on anything "paypal" related trying to take money out of your account. In fact I know a few people who set up ACR holds as soon as they signed up for paypal in case of incodents like this.
  • I never answer Paypal emails..even when they say they need me to conact them..>Lesson 1!
  • well it did say you have money from so and so .and when i log in to that when hell come to me . and i never did send the item thank god .i would be out of the money and the item as well . but some how they capture my information . all i wanted paypal is too fix this problem .
  • Can't believe people still fall for these emails. Let's take a quick lesson.

Lesson 1, Paypal will ALWAYS use your full name.

Lesson 2, check who it come from, if the end, end's in @paypal.co.uk or @paypal.com your safe.

Lesson 3, hover over links in the email, look at the URL, it will normally point to a URL that is not the paypal website

Lesson 4, there is no need to click on a link in a paypal email, if you need to take action on a dispute, account limits etc it will show when you log in, do NOT log into your paypal account from a link in your email.

Lesson 5, Check for poor grammer and spelling and also if the email doesn't make 100% sense it could not be legit.

Make sure your password is secure, mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, symbols etc, don't make it easy to guess!

  • How much did you get ripped for?
  • As others have said, never click any links in PayPal emails for any reason. Even if they are legit emails the same info is available going thro the secure https website.

If you got scammed by someone else, there is no lawsuit against PayPal you will win.

Yes this is serious and paypal should fix the issue. It just takes some time for them to verify what you're saying is true. These scammers didn't hack you, your account or hack paypal. They just tricked you into giving them your password. This is what makes it difficult on paypals behalf to verify it wasn't actually you who made the transaction. Give paypal some time and I'm sure they will sort it out for you.

Paypal can't fix something they don't control. Paypal can't stop some asshat from stealing their logo and putting together a fake email to scam anyone dumb enough to click through and entier their personal info.

The class action suit in the first link is interesting though. I believe Illinois has consumer protection laws that prevent financial institutions from placing holds on money for no reason exactly like Paypal has been doing. That would be good for all of us if Paypal had to shut that down.

  • thank you shyft . yes i been trying to resolve this crap for 2 years and nothing . and my credit is ruined because of it and i want this fix . that's all
  • Ok, this is going nowhere, and the OP is sending moderator reports now, so, yeah.
