And here is another "Assembled In USA"/"Made In Japan" variant. This one has been mentioned before in passing, but I thought I'd put up some pictures.
The top (USA) insert is a bit darker than the bottom (Japan) insert.
The text on the manuals is different - left (USA) is white, and right (Japan) is red.
The label on the top (USA) cart is has the official Sega seal and is also cheaper construction and suffers from the glue eating through it. The label on the bottom (Japan) cart has no seal and is of better quality. The text on the top of the label of the top cart is yellow, while the text on the bottom cart is pink. Then of course, the top cart says "Assembled In USA" and the bottom cart says "Made In Japan". And, as with the Ecco carts, the US one is made with the textured plastic where the JP one is made with the smooth plastic.
LHX apparently has 2 versions, one with a from the makers of F22 sticker and one without. (it might not be a sticker it might be printed, but I have never seen it in person)
Well, I don't know how anal we want to be with this, but I have 4 different Sonic 1 NFR's.
Are we just considering immediately visible packaging and programming differences, or do we want to include the small production variants as well - like cart, box and manual collectively being made in Japan versus made in the US versus made in Taiwan versus made in China versus made in Mexico... and so on. These tend to coincide with some of the immediate visible differences -Ms. Pac-Man for example- but not always.
Personally for me I look only for major differences Cart labels, manual, and box. If you want to list all the production variants you know of so be it.
The box included only the cartridge and not game box. I don't see a NFR sticker on the cartridge.
For the sake of this list I think it is a good idea to separate games that are cartridge only and were included as pack-ins and thus just have a sticker from those that also have accompanying boxes.
It also might be a good idea to keep pack-ins separate from NFRs. Or at least have one list of pack-ins and another list of games with NFS stickers (maybe with reference to the pack-in list where applicable).
For example if that Lion King doesn't have an NFR sticker than it shouldn't be on the NFR list, but it should be on a pack-in list.
Here is a thread from Sega-16 from a few years ago, however the information is not well organized:
There's a Pit Fighter variant (red text vs. yellow text) which hasn't been mentioned in the thread yet. Berserker on NintendoAge took a picture (thread here):
I've had both versions, but the first cart I bought was loose and apparently stone dead (which is why I bought a second copy!), so I hairdryered off the label -- still have it somewhere -- and used the shell for my EverDrive.
I have some great pics to share. As you may know, there is a Raiden Trad box variant. What has not been shared is why...until now. I checked my copy of the game and saw that there was a seperate piece of paper with the company logo on it explaining the reason why the box variant change. Pretty cool, and confims that there is only a box change and not a cart or manual

ive got some Made in Mexico carts. my castlevania bloodlines and earthworm jim are like that
These are probably the Majesco Cardboard releases.
There are actually quite a few made in Mexico that aren't Majesco releases. A lot of Acclaim games are made in Mexico.
Oh yea I know that but I was referring to the titles he mentioned in the post(Castlevania Bloodlines and Earthworm Jim).
EDIT: Spelling

Yes, I love all the lists that are being created around here.

As a Sonic collector, I'd really like to see all of the variants you have of the Sonic 1 NFR.
For collection purposes I'm mostly just interested in an NFR if it has an accompanying box, but for the list I guess it should be added.
A list on Digit-press says that Vectorman was a pack in with a system which is probably where the NFR came from.

I also found the system that had Lion King as a pack-in.

The box included only the cartridge and not game box. I don't see a NFR sticker on the cartridge.

NFRs with Boxes:
Last Action Hero
Sonic the Hedgehog 1
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Streets of Rage 2
For example if that Lion King doesn't have an NFR sticker than it shouldn't be on the NFR list, but it should be on a pack-in list.

I think our lists should also be limited to NTSC.

I agree, that was our mantra on the CB thread. Should probably be the Sega Age tag line.

This is either a demo or prototype right? If it is then I would say it would not go on the list. Someone please correct me if I am incorrect.
