  • you, me and the rest of the world. shit as far as i can tell there are more complete copies of stadium events out there then this title.
  • haha..i know, i am just trying my luck here
  • I am guessing you and I want this for the exact same reason image

We are both going to need a lot of luck, lol.

Did you get the email I just sent, pooch?
  • good luck pooch.

I found the game just ONCE here in Mexico. It was loose and I sold it on ebay for 87 dollars to a forum member...that was maybe 3 years ago!
  • Yeah, I hate to say it guys and gals, but unless someone finds a CIB one quick, mine is going to the only person I know with a CIB one.

And that loose one suppafly refers to I purchased, traded to maximus clean, which should tell you how incestual these few games are.

Ill give you 1000 for your sealed copy. Interested?
  • yeah, listen to dreamtr, those games are HARD to find. I sold my sealed ISS, ISSD to raregamergirl and sealed Super Copa to DreamTr and obtained his loose copy. just like dreamtr will now trade his again...

GOOD LUCK TO THOSE GOING CIB SNES ;-)

  • nes4ever: Nope. I need a CIB copy.
  • THere must be a very interesting story about why this game is so rare. DOes anyone know when It came out?

Ive always wanted to check the official nintendo magazine in mexico "CLub nintendo" of that era to find out if I can find more details about this game. THey usually did special features for "localized" games like chavez (they showed very long interviews and articles about that game) So it´d be likely that they did the same for super copa

BUt I really dont know why its so rare. The circulation must be VERY LOW if Ive been looking for it and found it just ONCE in mexican flea markets, where Ive found a lot of other rare games in the wild IE sealed nes games, earthbound for snes, etc etc

  • It's just a copy of Tony Meola with a different league's teams.

I know the circulation is very, very low, but if you do your research, there is probably a treasure trove of these from one guy in Connecticut if you follow your cards right, but it won't make a difference. The only person that has access to them will be the one to sell them all for major profit if he figures it out.

I actually have the first 6 years (92-97) of this magazine. I'll have to look through them and see if I can find anything. Only problem is I speak no spanish at all...

I actually found them on ebay a couple years ago and I actually only bought them because I collect Virtual Boy stuff and wanted the Virtual Boy issue image. They are bound together so they are like books.

Anyway, I took a quick look through the issues from 1993-1995 and found that there is not much info on this game available. The most I really found was in the May 1994 issue which there was one half page article and another short paragraph later in the magazine. Other than that I didn't see anything. I think Chavez was in almost every magazine during 1993 and 1994 though. They really promoted that one

I can take scans of these articles if someone knows Spanish and wants to translate them.

  • Super Copa is not that rare here in Brazil. I might look for it if you guys want. But i wont find a CIB that easy, most of them are cart-only.

I wonder if that would be the NIntendo of AMerica release.

Thats why we´ve seen some brazilian ISSDS manufactured by a brazilian company. THose dont have the rating in the label and thuse are not north american releases.

AFAIK super copa is a game in spanish (can anyone confirm that?) so it´d be weird that it was released in a portuguese speaking country?
  • the list i have doesnt list it as a offical us released game so in my world it doesnt count as anything other than a varation of tony mel soccer
  • afaik it wasn't even released in the US - I'm sure others know more about this than I but I always thought all three of those NTSC games but not US games. Ie mexico only.

Exactly. Not only that, Tony Meola´s Sidekick Soccer is a horrible soccer game.

About the USRB rating, some brazilian game have, some doesn´t. I ´ve seen ISSS´s with and without the rating, both original.

If it has the ESRB rating and NTSC part number then it is an official north american release

If it doesnt have the ESRB rating them its either a bootleg or a brazilian "official" version by a company called gradiente.
  • hmmm so my ISS and ISSD may have not been pirates?

Actually, PLAYTRONIC was the union of two major brazilian companies: GRADIENTE (an eletronics company) and ESTRELA (a toy company). They worked together until the late 90´s, when ESTRELA decided to cancel their partnership and GRADIENTE kept producing official Nintendo games for a while. That happened a bit before the N64 was released and Gradiente made Nintendo produtcs alone until the early versions of Gamecube.

They might or might not had been pirates. They couldve been brazilian versions

But those carts were definitely not north american releases by Nintendo of America.

Brazil had their own manufacturers of games, while in Mexico we ALWAYS received north american releases straight from NOA.

I've heard they were all released in southern CA, but I don't know if the people who were saying this were just speculating or knew for a fact.
  • This has been stated before.

Nintendo released their games here by region. Meaning, North America. This means Mexico, USA, Canada basically.

ISS and ISS Deluxe are on the official Nintendo SNES list. They are official North American releases. They have ESRB ratings. THe warranty info is all in US and directs the user to call numbers in the USA or write to the company in the USA. I've found titles of these both from Nintendo. Granted more than likely the release was limited to Mexico, there was coverage in Nintendo Power on these as well. Super Copa is in Spanish, but the manual is also in English. That also has a ESRB rating. Remember, Nintendo released these by REGION, and these are official releases regardless of what anyone thinks. Not sure what more you need than the ESRB rating, full box, full manual, and what not to convince people.

I also LIVED in Southern California, and I saw ISS Deluxe and ISS 2000 for N64 and GBC on sale there. There's a HUGE soccer following out there, so that might be why those were appearing there, but I saw the things, so there really is no argument, these have official boxes, manuals, everything. Nothing shocking here, no crazy Atari Air Raid pirate arguments.
