Storage Shelf?

Hey fellas, I am gathering and taking inventory of my collection and am on to the next step. Constructing or finding a shelfing unit to facilitate the organization of my collection. I have noticed pics from forums, do people build their own shelfing/storage units or buy them from some retailer Ikea etc..Any help or input regarding this next step of mine will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • I haven't bought it but I've been considering picking up this one with a few extra shelves:

I don't know what are you planning to put in there but the depth in this model is about right for loose NES carts
  • Yeah CD/DVD storage units are the way to go.
  • These Billy shelves are from Ikea too, I have the wide version and the narrow version attached to each other, also bought 2 extra shelves for each unit!

  • The cheapest and easiest route I've found are these media shelves they sell at the Wal-Mart. You can pick one up for approx. $30. Not bad, plus most of the population lives by a Wally World.
  • If you have the know how I would say building a custom shelf is the way to go. Solid construction and cost effective if you are doing it yourself. I made a shelf for under $100 and it will fit a completed NES collection. The other advantage would be you can build it to the dimensions you want.
