AV Famicom / NES Toploader Issues

Alright, so I have two AV Famicom consoles in my possession that are broken. These are very close to the NES-101 (Toploader), so I figured any fixes to those might also apply here.

First console:

Turning it on gives a white, or sometimes gray, screen. The pins are very clean. The cart is very clean. The pin connector looks very good; it doesn't appear to be rusted, doesn't have any bent/broken pins. Looking at the board, nothing appears to be wrong. I know this issue is often a problem of a bad connection between the games and console, but is there any other reason why it would happen? I've cleaned out the pin connector.

Second console:

The pin connector is in poor condition--some pins are bent, others are simply broken. It will load games with choppy graphics but otherwise seems perfectly fine.

So my questions are,

1) What would cause this screen on console one, other than a dirty game/connector?

2) How difficult would it be to replace a pin connector on the AV Famicom? Obviously it would be difficult to find the right part, but what if I could use the connector from console 2 and put it in console 1?

3) While I'm at it, what are the most likely causes for a toploader not to power on/how easy is it to find and replace the parts?

I've considered contacting people who do NES toploader mods/repairs but I think it might be a waste of my time (and/or money). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
