Sold items in the B/S/T threads

Why is it that when someone sells an item on their BST thread they put sold next to it instead of removing it from the post?

  • Because they have pictures that have the items in it and so people don't ask maybe?
  • There's still a lot that either have their own pictures or don't have pictures at all.
  • I personally like when this is done. It helps to get a bead on what is selling and sometimes a good price point.
  • For some people it's the ol' "stack em high, let em fly" kinda deal. I shows other buyers that you at one point have some good stuff and may also probably have them again rather than you not having that particular item in the first place. You're luring potential buyers in your "store" because they will see that you're not just a seller that has nothing, but rather HAD something. It makes your store look more "complete" when there's nothing there, so people will be more willing to buy than if you have a lot of empty space. It's mainly a visual or psychological trick some sellers like to use.

For me, it's so I can keep track of what I just sold. I delete them after a week or two. lol

  • Me personally I will do the "sold" next to the item if I have a group picture and it's there. If I have a single picture then I'll delete the picture along with the game title. By the way, do you smell what the Rock is cooking?
  • Sorry for the double post, computer at work is screwing up
  • We like to keep old threads open and available for reference. If you use the search function, you will be able to find all sorts of completed threads for any given item. It is nice to have a history.

I would do that too-- it's the only ones I don't delete, not right away at least.

I have a pic of various manuals on my trade thread, and a list underneath them. Now, if it wasn't marked "sold" nobody would know if the item in the picture that wasn't on the list was sold or not. So I pretty much keep them marked "sold" until I change the pic.
