Looking for a Japanese Text Translator

I am looking for someone who can translate Japanese text from a game manual into English.

I will compensate you for your time. Please PM me.

Thank you.

  • Or you can save some money by downloading an OCR program and then throwing that data into an online translator. It won't be "English" but "Engrish" instead- but it's free
  • I have zero experience with this.. This program reads text?
  • An OCR program basically takes any scanned document (Paper, Business Card, Receipt, whatever) and can turn it into a PDF with actual text data like for example- if I scanned a piece of paper that said "Hello World" on it and ran it through an OCR program I can copy and paste the data from the file it generates into say Notepad, or any other word processor.

In fact, I just did some quick googling and found this.

Looks like you can upload any picture type file with japanese text and it will translate it into actual Japanese text for you, then you can go over to http://translate.google.com/ and hit "Japanese" to "English" and paste the data then hit Translate.
  • I appreciate the information Joseph, but I think I am still going to seek out someone the translate this for me.
  • You have to be careful with OCR software. Top of the line ones are expensive. If you have a perfect manual, it might work (Google Docs also has OCR support), but if there are any wrinkles in the pages, you're probably going to end up with weird-looking Chinese characters or worse. Forget about handwriting or text images, too.

Depends what you want this for. If you can figure it out with machine translation (Babelfish, Excite and the like), that's definitely the cheapest option.
  • I gave this a quick try and mostly it was gibberish.

Manual is pretty old, and a little dirty...
  • Found someone.
