Ebay problem

Hey, i recently listed a bunch of gamecube stuff, and im using ebay for the first time (with more than just one listing). A bunch of items already sold and i sent out a few things, but last night i sold an item, the buyer happens to be from FINLAND. All my listings state i only ship to the USA and Canada. Was wondering what i can do with this seller, i contacted him saying my listing clearly states USA and Canada only, but if he really wants the item i will refund what he paid and resend the invoice with the correct shipping cost. Wondering if ebay allows you to do this? He won with the BIN option btw, and shipping is close to tripple what would cover USA and Canadian shipping.

An insight would be great guys!

  • Open up a cancellation request in the resolution center. I believe there is an option that says "buyer is from a country you don't ship to" or something similar. If not you use the choice that "you (buyer and seller) do not agree to the terms". It will give them an option to cancel it so you can get your fees back. If it is stated clearly, you shouldn't have an issue, but I would recommend going into your control panel and setting your buyer requirements so it doesn't happen again. You can automatically block bidders who aren't in your shipping range.

I dont know how to set that :S I had to use the worldwide option when i made my listings to be able to send to canada (since i used ebay.com instead of .ca) to sell them. Ill wait till i hear from the buyer before i open a claim, just sucks how ppl have the inability to read something.

  • As far as I can tell, you have to create your sales postings in ebay.ca to get it to set them up right. For some reason the shipping is all screwed up if you create them using ebay.com.

They will still show on ebay.com anyway.
