Hopefully the seller will come back into the forums on workday Monday and tell us about why #1 is now gone while the others are all good? That is what I really want to know...
*EDIT* I guess I could be wrong about the Monday thing as here it is 11:53 PM and the seller is on NA right now, or at least so the lit bulb would suggest. And since I am only a few hours away from the seller it is the same time zone for Arthur as well as me.
Hey guys, I just came home from an entire day laying 80lb. slabs for a new patio to find Lot#1 removed by ebay. Apparently we've violated a charity rule or something- not sure why all 32 didn't come down, but I wrote a nasty email to customer service asking them to contact me asap. The note said we required a signed letter from our charity authorizing the auction, but we weren't given this notice prior to Lot 1 being pulled- I'm personally pretty vexed about that.
Anyways, I'll see what we can work out with ebay tomorrow morning and hopefully the remaining 31 will remain up. Lot 1 will also be back, I promise.
As for some guy above's problem with not seeing close up pix of every game, he can spend his time looking at other auctions. We will NOT be doing anything remotely close to that. We're an office of 30 people here and we're getting ready to relocate to a new location in 3 weeks. The auction's sole purpose is to get rid of this stuff- If we can raise some money for charity at the same time great. In all honesty we thought these might go for a few hundred a box at best.
If you have an issue with the lack of photos, number of photos, or quality of photos please don't bid. We want to deal with someone who is happy with what they see, and is above all else, easy to deal with. If that means less money for these lots, we accept that as we just do not have the man power to devote to providing all bidders with exactly what they'd like to see for these items. The additional photos are VERY REPRESENTATIVE of the condition of all the games you don't see. We've done our best to take the pictures of the more popular games in each lot. If you bid on these auctions with the idea they are in 80%, 'good' shape you will be quite happy with what you receive. If you bid on these auctions with the idea they are flawless in every way as if it were 1988 again, you may be disappointed.
We are not targeting collectors for these auctions and have not presented them in a way that you may be used to. If this makes you uncomfortable please just don't waste your time on them.
honestly, Nintendo keeps these things in pretty nice shape, so I don't see any issues with anyone bidding. There won't be tears in the shrinkwrap or anything, that's for sure. Like I stated before, I am very glad I don't collect sealed games, LOL
Bronty: I obviously have business with them if I intend on buying from them. I, along with everyone else, has at least the right to ask questions from the seller regarding the items and discuss terms elsewhere for example Nintendoage. I am not calling the seller a scam in any way and I apoligize nocl604 if it comes out that way. I don't mean to sound offensive but it's just not wise to buy when you cant see close up pictures of every game included. The seller did add some but still there are many more that need to be taken.
Udisi: the seller DOES ship worldwide
Well I don't think you understand my point. I know your intentions are good and if it came across like I thought otherwise then I apologize. The only thing I thought was offside was encouraging non-payment. If Joe and Harry were thinking of bidding on my auctions, and Joe told Harry not to pay I'd be pissed.
We've relisted Lot #1 and have removed any reference to the United Way, although this is where 100% of the proceeds will still be donated. We have requested a letter from UW which we will provide ebay to ensure lots 2 through 33 remain up and do not need to be relisted.
Our apologies for any inconveniences to those watching or participating in this auction. Thanks for your understanding!
This is probably a ploy by a rogue bidder to try to force a side deal or buy time. Probably not a side deal since NOCl604 said they wouldn't pull them, but it was all the high ticket auctions that got pulled.
Update: I've been throwing these back up as they come down best I can.
I did have some offers to purchase outside immediately after they were removed but as we said, we won't go this route. Unfortunately I cannot remove the "proceeds to United Way" in the auctions' subtitles as that appears to be a locked item that can't be edited. I've removed all references for the United Way specifically, but I have tried to make it clear they will be the beneficiary of their sale.
I really wish ebay would have contacted me to ask for the signed letter... we could have easily provided it to them. It was very frustrating to say the least to see these pulled even without a simple phone call.
nocl604, I hope by proceeds, you mean revenue less costs. You're going to owe a fortune in Final Value Fees to eBay when (and if, eBay permitting ) these finally close.
Man,Some of the pics they took are worthless.WAY to much glare to even get a good idea of condition, especially on Final Fight Guy(The only one I will be bidding on!!)
Its like they just tossed the games on a table and just started taking random pictures.I know someone will flame me for bringing this up again and tell me "If you dont like the pics then dont bid" But I don't care.
Well.....Good luck to you boys on the Final Fight Guy auction.I have been setting aside a good chunk of change waiting for something SUPER rare to pop up like this for about 6 months now.
he's sold a lot more than that even. not sure he has much left - he's started collecting baseball cards, esp. ken griffey junior items
Umn really? What the hell for... sports cards are worthless... well 99% of them.
I'm not going to defend the pictures... they are what they are. But Arthur and I have sent a few messages back and forth and it is 100% clear to me that he and his work honestly didn't have a clue what this stuff was worth. Also they don't care about squeezing out every single penny they could get by meticulously taking pics of every box. They are moving and don't have time, and since all money is going to charity it's not like they are seeing the proceeds. These auctions are all going to go sky high anyways... especially a couple key ones... I guess all you can do is bid accordingly. If you hold back becuase of bad pics, you WILL NOT win these lots. If you bid all out as the winners will do and a couple are bad that's the risk you take.

Yeah I don't like them too much as a collectible either, they are ok but not really my bag. He's collecting a lot of these 1/1 and 1/2 cards (ie modern super limited edition cards where the entire print run was only 1 or 2 cards). I never liked artificially rare items like that though.... if they are made for no other reason than to be rare it just leaves me cold.
Well I used to collect sports cards in the late 80's early 90's. I had a Cal Ripken Jr collection alone that according to Beckett was worth over $25,000. I had everything there was of him but then the damn 1/1's started coming out and it was impossible to have all of Cal's cards so I gave up. I have since sold everything but my Ripken collection. The sad part is that what they once were worth, I'll bet I couldn't get $1,000 for all of them now. Talk about the bottom falling out.

Also 1-4 are back up already
Ugghh, now another week or however long for these things to end.

It sucks E-bay keeps pulling these, I wonder if the rogue bidders will stop reporting these long enough for them to end!?!
yup, I knew it , damn rogue bidders..."I see your auction was pulled, I'll give you xxx for them" B.S.
Yeah, that shit is complete garbage. Collectors can be a really slimy, scummy bunch when it comes to their passions.

Porn?
It doesn't matter, that Final Fight Guy auction is gonna be ridiculous.
Is Dr. Brinn still looking to complete his sealed snes collection?

probably not as he has sold at least 60, maybe 100 of them starting late last year.
