New member in the year 20xx
Hate introduction post, but what the hell... I'll introduce myself since this is a Nintendo related site and people may remember me from way back when.
Old nick was Big-Daddy (still is, mainly use bigd) I used to run IHOR (International House of Roms) back around 1996 til I'm not even sure when I stopped updating it, but it's prime was 1997-1998 - at peak times it would have around 300-400 users downloading roms, was always the 1st to get the newly released roms and rom packs to the web (via the awesome release groups)
Always pushed to get the most roms up, it may be a joke by todays standards, but having 2500+ roms up for the public when most every other site didn't get near 1000 was a big thing back then. For eons you could never find Sega Genesis roms ANYWHERE, I scouraged all over to gather them up for the site before there was any good emulators to run them at a reasonable speed over 4fps.
Also did tons of graphics/logos for a lot of the emulation sites back then, can't even remember all the sites but did have the main logos for 'The Dump' and "Zophar's Domain" as well as everything on my site.
If anyone recalls I had a small post about Nintendo of America threatening me with a cease and desist, I thought it was fake, but contaced them myself and found it to be real =(
They told me to removed all Nintendo of AMERICA licensed titles... so I did, but put up all the Japanese/European releases instead, just to get under their skin, never heard from them again, but the site slowly faded after that since I was a huge Nintendo fan, losing all those NES/SNES/GB games on the site hurt.
