Lurker turned poster!

I'm a guy who collects old games. I hear you guys do too! Wassssup!

Currently have an almost complete NES collection. Mostly cartridges, some boxes and manuals. I live in a one bedroom condo so not much extra room. Also a decent amount of SNES and N64 games.

Married, no kids. Good job. Chicagoland. I built my own shelf for NES cartridges! I attached a picture. This one holds A-R (ish). Designed it to fit behind the couch so it doesn't take up wall space

I have taken apart and cleaned up all these games inside and out. Everything has been polished up and q-tipped clean. Stickers have been removed (carefully). No ugly games!

  • Welcome to NA! Im from the chicago area as well.

Nice shelf you got there. I could not imagine how long it took you to clean each and every game, inside and out. Thats dedication right there.
  • Very pretty shelf. And great idea to hide it behind the couch
  • Welcome to the site! I, as well, like the shelving unit.
  • i like your title, lmao! lurkers are cool. i find them interesting hehehe. hey how come no high res pic for us to see? we want HD pics! and make a vid with yer cellphone on youtube to show us.
  • welcome! love those shelves. very elegant, while being simple and effective. As soon as I move I might just build those.
  • Here's my list of NES games I have yet to get. Some are easy and cheap, some are definitely not. The rest of my games are on some Ikea CD shelves. I haven't figured out how to add hi res pics yet, I had to dumb down the shelf pic so it would upload.

I do have some VERY rare games, one of which should have arrived today. I will share that after I get home tomorrow (out of town)

    Games I don't have yet:

6 in 1 Myriad (ha!), Action 52, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Bandit Kings of Ancient China, Bonk's Adventure, Bubble Bath Babes, Castelian, Cheetamen 2, Chip & Dale RR 2, Cliffhanger, Cyberball, Dragon Fighter, Fisher Price: Firehouse Rescue, Flintstones 2, Formula 1 Built to Win, GI Joe Real American Hero, Ghoul School, Hot Slots, Impossible Mission 2 SEI B/W, Jetsons, Jungle book, Kick Master, Kiwi Kraze, Last Action Hero, Last Ninja, Little Ninja Bros, Little Samson, Maxi 15, Menace Beach, Mermaids of Atlantis, Mickey's (both of em), Moon Ranger, NWC, Peek a Boo Poker, Puss 'N Boots, Robocop 2, Robo Demons, Rollerblade Racer, Romance of 3 Kingdoms, SCAT, Snow Bros, Solitaire, Stack Up, Stadium Events, Stanley and the Search, Superman, Sword Master, Toki, T&C 2 Thrilla's Surfari, Ultimate League Soccer, Wacky Races, Wheel of Fortune feat Vanna White, Whomp 'Em, WWF King of the Ring, Zombie Nation.
  • Welcome to the posting game! Nice shelves you got there. Also, appreciate someone else who takes their carts apart and cleans them like I do. Granted, my collection is still much smaller; somewhere around 250 carts.
  • Sweet man, looks like you have a bunch of rares. Take a pic of your NWC, Stadium Events, Peek a boo poker/Bubble Bath, 6 in 1 Myriad, Cheetamen 2... and you'll get a bunch of neat icons under your name.
  • Those are games I do NOT have... yet

I added that line about rare games before the game list, I should have been more clear. I just went back and edited it for clarity.
  • For anyone insterested in the shelves, that bad boy cost me about $60 to build. Just got some wood (2x6 I think they were) from HomeDepot, measured really well and cut it up. I got the mid grade pine. The wood studs weren't that costly but the plywood backer was. You'll also need a circular saw and a square. It's just held together with nails and some screws. The shelves are full length and the vertical supports are cut and toenailed in. They aren't perfectly straight but people can sit on the shelf and it holds just fine. I didn't want any sagging boards like you get with cheap particleboard shelves. Not perfect but pretty good for my first attempt building a shelf!

The shelves will hold SNES games on their side too, I designed it that way back when I didn't have as many games and kept them all on one shelf. Now this is purely for 2/3 of my NES carts.

Ahh... okay.  My bad...   I was going to say, you have a hell of a lot of rares.  But yeah, I love the shelves as well, nice job on those!
